Description
PLEASE NOTE: THIS MUSEUM IS NOT LOCATED AT GROUND ZERO. We are located just 8 minutes by the "E" subway from the Ground Zero site.
Ground Zero Museum Workshop is certainly an emotional and humbling experience. It is similar to visiting the Anne Frank Museum in Holland, where the reality of what happened is not sugar coated.
There are no graphic or morbid images displayed here and the core of the collection focuses more on the recovery efforts as opposed to the tragedy of the morning of September 11.
Everything is presented tastefully and beautifully, but the history cannot be ignored, so you should be prepared for an experience much deeper than standing outside the gates at Ground Zero.
Rare video footage from the recovery is also displayed on large screens, while you view the photographs & remnants.
The intention of Mr. Suson's Museum Workshop is not to be a harrowing experience; on the contrary, it is meant to be a beautiful and touching way to remember the fallen and those that struggled to recover them.
The only memory that most people have of that day is the sight of two towers collapsing and aerial video footage of Ground Zero seen on the news.
Tour Includes:
25-Minute Rare Video of The Recovery on Large Screen & Surround Sound
A Discussion About Working at Ground Zero
Ground Zero Question & Answer Session
Walkthrough & Explanation/History of Mr. Suson's Most Notable Images

PLEASE NOTE: THIS MUSEUM IS NOT LOCATED AT GROUND ZERO.
We are located just 8 minutes by the "E" subway from the Ground Zero site.
Unlike many museums, Ground Zero Museum Workshop allows certain items/artifacts to be picked up and handled. This is allowed so visitors have a more interactive experience with the hopes of having a greater understanding of what took place during the recovery.
For example, visitors will be able to pick up WTC window glass and steel. Observing the weight and density of such items helps one to have a better understanding of the size and mass of the towers. Some artifacts are on temporary loan from Ground Zero recovery workers and firemen.

My visit to the museum was awesome in a special reverent way. The displays were wonderful as well as the narrations. Very moving and memorable. The young ladies that work there are knowledgeable and very helpful. I would visit again.

My granddaughters and I loved this tour, it was so informative and the gentleman who created the museum was kind enought to give my eldest granddaughter an interview for a college project. Kudos for an excellent afternoon which we would do over and over again.

Glass from approx 80th floor
About 1% of WTC glass survived and this piece is approx 3" thick which means it came from a high floor. Amazing to survive since most turned back to sand.

More glass
This glass hasn't been santised and they believe if they lifted the glass case it would still smell like smoke etc.. from the aftermath.

Glass from high up on the Twin Towers.
Most glass was pulverized so an amazing reminder of the enormity of 9/11.
